Publication & Playtest ideas wrap-up

While writing the title it came to my mind that it could be a nice title for an RPG with a modern setting in the book industry... and since there are many experts on this topic within RPG authors, it could really occur!

Apologies, back to the core of my post: I am two (actually three) steps from the word "end" for the playtest publication... I have not yet clarified why I decided to follow this unorthodox way. Usually the playtest is done internally and after that, all the editing, proofreading, and so forth follow... Let me explain you the main reason: the first one is to ideally test the main purpose of the game. For the core rules, this is clearly explained at the end of the introduction. Secondly, I do not understand the reason for a playtest in a predefined group of players since this approach cuts off some potential outcomes that could be coming from 'external players'. Thirdly, the modern model to run a 'closed' test and then going via Kickstarter to grab as much as possible is not my goal, therefore I will not follow it... and let me add that I honestly do not understand the Kickstarter model with add-ons or different version which make the pubblication etremely more complicated than it could be... and now that I am facing to it, already with a 'vanilla' go-live, this is overly difficult! I would be already satisfied if there is a positive feedback from the test even if it is not done on a large scale!

Based on the rationale here above, I came to this odd way to kick my game off: I am likely in error, I will likely fail but I feel that is the good way and I really hope to be understood for such a choice. This, needless to say, implicitly requires the support of all the playtest audience and therefore I am here to detail the ideas behind the playtest activity.

1. Communication, communication, communication! On these pages I would really like to have playtesters to be present, introduce themselves and submit their contributions. I can offer their names within the credits of the book as well as a free digital copy of the final version of the book and a printed copy... for the later I am thinking to a "special" version... I need to understand how can I make it up.

2. Gather all the feedbacks here, or better, in the Playtest page; in this way there can be a full disclosure of the contributors and the contributions as well.

3. In order to support the playtest, I will start to write dedicated posts about the way to run the game: this is actually the largest part of the future release of the expanded rules I have planned but it would help a lot  to write posts while the playtest is running according to the needs of the playtesters.

4. In addition to the previous point, this is also an opportunity to assess the expanded rules I have written. On this topic I need to make my mind up how I can carry out this assessment.

With this overview I need first to complete the book and then to think to all the details for the playtesting activities.
